Drive Away 2Day

Mobsteel : Car TV

"Detroit is a real tough and gritty place and that's what Mobsteel is," says Adam Genei in the trailer for the latest auto-themed reality series.

"Mobsteel" is coming to NBCSN next month, the sports cable network announced today.

The eight-episode show focuses on Brighton's Mobsteel custom car shop, where vintage rides are given new swagger.

Or, to put it another way, "bad-ass cars become modern-day street machines," as Mobsteel founder Genei says in a clip.

The show is scheduled to debut at 6 p.m. on Aug. 16, right after the network's coverage of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Pure Michigan 400 from Michigan International Speedway.

In the first episode, a 1963 Lincoln Continental owned by a metro Detroit pipefitter will be getting a Mobsteel makeover.

"Mobsteel" joins an NBCSN lineup that includes around-the-clock programming of sports events and shows like "NFL Turning Point" and "NHL Rivals." The cable network is available in more than 85 million homes.
