2017 Ford GT : Concept Cars

A sinister-looking prototype of the 2017 Ford GT has been caught on camera for the very first time.

Ford made a huge splash at the beginning of the year when they introduced the GT concept which will make the transition to a production model for the 2017MY. A prototype looking straight from a Mad Max movie has been spotted undergoing testing and as you can see the body wasn't wearing any paint.

Set to hit the assembly line late 2016, Ford's "ultra-high-performance supercar" will cost about $400,000 and will be built in only 250 examples each year. Power will be provided by a newly developed V6 EcoBoost twin-turbo engine producing more than 600 bhp (447 kW) channeled to the road with help from a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission which accord to Ford will enable "near-instantaneous gear changes."

Ford promises their new GT will have "one of the best power-to-weight ratios of any production car" and is going to provide "outstanding acceleration." The Blue Oval company has previously announced 95% of the concept's design will be carried over onto the production model which is bound to receive larger side mirrors and different graphics for the lighting clusters.
