2016 Subaru WRX : Current Models

Subaru's performance sedans, the WRX and WRX STI, get new available safety features for 2016 as well as the company's vastly improved infotainment system.

The company announced Thursday the 2016 WRX would gain the Starlink multimedia system that's already been shown on the 2015 Outback and Legacy models.

It replaces a truly outdated radio and optional navigation system, this time offering support for Aha, Pandora, iHeart Radio and streaming Bluetooth functions. Base WRX and STIs get a 6.2-inch screen, while a 7-inch screen with navigation and Harman/Kardon sound is optional on the WRX Premium and STI and standard on the Limited models.

Another set of tech comes in the form of the available EyeSight suite of crash-prevention systems. As in other Subarus, EyeSight brings adaptive cruise control, pre-collision braking and lane keep assist. However, it's only available on the WRX Limited with "Sport Lineartronic" (CVT) transmission.

The 2016 WRX will start at $26,595, the STI at $34,695. They go on sale this summer.
