Drive Away 2Day

Scion iM Concept To Be Revealed : News

Readers have asked about our impressions of the new 2015 Kia Soul EV, and now we've answered with a full drive report and lots of photos. We also used the Prius past to predict the Volt future, and have an update from a sneaky little ad agency that got caught lying about electric cars. All this and more today on Green Car Reports.

We updated our article on the Lexus anti-electric car ad that compared road trips from LA to Vegas in a Lexus CT 200h hybrid and a BMW i3 electric car.

(Turns out the agency that made the ad actually used a range-extended BMW i3 REx--and tried to Photoshop out the gas door that identified the model. Classy.)

We got details early this morning of the Scion iM Concept hatchback that will be shown at next week's Los Angeles Auto Show. It's a Toyota Auris.

We have a report on our week-long First Drive of the 2015 Kia Soul EV, the battery-electric tall wagon with the 93-mile range.

We also learned this morning that China and the U.S. agreed to cut their carbon emissions, the first time China has agreed to do so.

Past sales of the Toyota Prius in its early years may offer some clues as to the future sales of the 2016 Chevy Volt, which will be unveiled in January.

You might expect self-driving cars to be more fuel-efficient; the one Porsche built turns out to be faster than human drivers, too.

A new study suggests that clean tech may produce more economic growth than do fossil fuels.

"Reduce, Reuse, Recycle"? Volvo's Chinese plant is building the old XC90 crossover utility vehicle, launched way back in 2002, as the XC90 Classic just for China. And, finally, Mercedes-Benz has joined Infiniti and Cadillac in tossing out old, recognizable model names for a new nomenclature system--adding a new Maybach for good measure.
