2015 Cayenne S E-Hybrid : Current Models

Since last year when the Panamera S E-Hybrid was pending launch, it had been reported Porsche’s next plug-in hybrid would be the Cayenne which was already available as a regular hybrid, and this is now confirmed. The German car maker revealed its revised 2015 Cayenne that comes in a few familiar high-performance flavors, and pushing aside the old regular hybrid – as was the case for the Panamera – will be the S E-Hybrid. Power for the Cayenne PHEV is the same as for the Panamera version – a supercharged V6 is mated to electric motor and lthium-ion battery for 416 horsepower, 435 pounds-feet of torque. The mid-cycle refresh for all Cayenne variants also sees a new front end with right and left air fins to direct air to the intercoolers. Bi-Xenon headlights with “hovering” four-point LED daytime running lights are standard on Diesel, S and S E-Hybrid versions. Out back, the updated rear features tail lights with a three-dimensional effect, and better integration into the tailgate lid of license plate recess, tailgate handle and lights. A Cayenne Diesel will come with a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine that delivers 240 horsepower and 406 pounds-feet of torque. Other models range into the 400-plus and 500-plus horsepower V8 range. Dealers are expected to be getting the new Cayenne around November 1. Prices for the diesel are to start at $62,695 including destination. The S E-Hybrid will start at $75,405, significantly less than the $99,000 Panamera S E-Hybrid, and close to a Cadillac ELR or entry Tesla Model S.
