2015 Buick Verano Gains/Loses Features : News

Buick’s Verano compact sedan will see multiple small tweaks for the 2015 model year, but among the most significant is the addition of General Motors’ 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. Not only will the Verano now feature the technology, Wi-Fi connectivity capabilities will be standard on all variations of the car.

GM’s IntelliLink infotainment system is also standard on the 2015 Verano, which works in conjunction with the OnStar 4G LTE system. It can connect up to 10 devices at once and offers features such as Text Message Alert and Siri Eyes Free Integration for iPhone users. Whenever the car is running, the hotspot will be active. A complimentary three-month, three-gigabyte data subscription comes with the vehicle upon purchase, as does a six-month subscription to OnStar.

About those small tweaks. The Verano will lose the six-speed manual option for 2015, with the six-speed automatic remaining as only transmission option. There is also now a cosmetic exterior package for the middle-of-the-range Convenience and Leather option groups. The pack, available on all models except for the 250 horsepower Turbo, includes a new Desert Dusk Metallic color option, a rear spoiler and a chrome grille treatment.

The 2015 Verano with standard 4G LTE capabilities will hit Buick dealerships later this year. Pricing has yet to be announced, however it shouldn’t stray too far from the $24,625 entry price of the 2014 model.
