Citroen DS3 Electrum : Concept Cars

While the DS3 Cabrio may steal most glances at Citroen’s Paris Auto Show stand, the brand with the double chevron logo will also display another interesting version of its stylish hatchback.

The DS3 Electrum is an all-electric plug-in concept of the firm's chic supermini. Its drivetrain features two 65 kW (87HP) electric motors on the front axle and a Panasonic 17.5 kWh lithium-ion battery that can be charged via a socket hidden under the classic fuel cap.

Keep in mind, the French brand has not yet released any images of the study, as what you see pictured here are the regular versions of the DS3.

Citroen claims that the car's range on the European test cycle is 120 km (75 miles) and that by using a quick-charge station, the DS3 Electrum’s battery pack can reach an 80 percent charge in just 30 minutes.

Putting the electric motors up front means that the electric DS3 is in all other ways, identical to the internal combustion-powered version with no limitations whatsoever in passenger or boot space.

A fact that may, or may not, hint at a production version that could follow in the very near future
