Born and raised in Hawaii, at the early age of twelve Jordan received his first camera, a vintage 1960’s Nikon SLR from his grandfather. He instantly fell in love with the art of photography and soon after acquired the fundamental techniques of manually developing and printing his own film in a darkroom.

Over the next couple of years, his equipment as well as his skill began to progress. With the expert instruction and patient guidance of his high school (Iolani) teacher and mentor, Alison Uyehara Ngo, Jordan matured as both a student of photography and as a person.

He then got his degree in biological sciences from UNLV and presently resides in Las Vegas specializing in exotic automobiles and high fashion photography.

When not performing photoshoots, Shiraki can be found helping the homeless/abused women and children of Las Vegas. This is such a great passion of his, that two years ago he started a non-profit organization called project_SMILE which is an acronym for Strengthening, Motivating, and Inspiring Lives Everywhere.

What started out as only him and his friend has now grown to over 40 volunteers that provide weekly one-on-one health classes for the women and crafts/mentoring for the children. For more information please visit www.project-SMILE.org

"I love her, but I can't keep my mind on her."

Birth Name : Terius Youngdell Nash
Born : September 23, 1977 (age 34)
Location : Atlanta, Georgia
Origin : Rockingham, North Carolina,
Occupation : singer-songwriter, record producer
Years Active : 1998 - Present

Terius Youngdell Nash (Born September 20, 1977), better known by his stage name The-Dream, is an American singer-songwriter and record producer. He is known for co-writing chart topping hits such as "Baby" for Justin Bieber, "Umbrella" for Rihanna and "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" for Beyoncé, as well as for his three solo albums, Love Hate, Love vs. Money, and Love King.Terius Nash was born in Rockingham, North Carolina and moved with his mother, Reva Nash, to Atlanta at the age of 3. He played trumpet, drums, and guitar as a child.

His mother died in 1992 when Nash was fifteen years old, an event which would inspire him to write songs. He states that the death of his mother gave him a "soft spot" for women, which he credits to his desire to write songs about female empowerment such as Rihanna's "Umbrella". He moved in with his grandfather, a concrete mason who instilled a strong work ethic in young Nash. Of his grandfather, Nash recalls "He came out of a bad time for blacks in the South, but even though we lived in the hood, we had a boat, some cars and a house that was paid for. So I’ve always had a different outlook on life. There’s nothing I can’t do."

Nash met R&B producer Laney Stewart in 2001; Stewart helped him get a publishing deal after writing "Everything" for B2K's album Pandemonium! Under the pen name "The-Dream", Nash began writing lyrics for many popular artists. He spent two years working on Nivea's second album Complicated, which he executive produced, and continued to write and produce with Christopher "Tricky" Stewart, Laney's brother, which led to Rihanna's 2007 smash hit "Umbrella". The success of "Umbrella" boosted Dream's music career, and in 2007, he signed a deal with Def Jam Records. (Read More)

Author Steve Halloran

First of all, for those who don’t recognize the 2 Series name, BMW is making the coupe and convertible models of the 1 Series into the 2 Series (the hatchback will retain its 1 Series brand). The M235i coupe is set to become the successor to the 1 Series M Coupe, which quickly sold out its run of 600 cars in the United States.
Autoweek reports that the M235i coupe will get a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder rated at 316 horsepower, mated to a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Rear-wheel drive will be standard, but all-wheel drive may be an option. The automaker may add an M235i convertible later with the same powertrain.

Car : Aston Martin Vanquish
Author Steve Halloran

Under the hood is a 6-liter V12 producing 565 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque, which makes it almost the most powerful production Aston Martin, short of the limited-edition One-77. The engine sends power to the rear wheels through a rear-mounted 6-speed automatic transaxle, which allows 85 percent of the car’s weight to sit between the front and rear axles. All of that equates to a 0-to-62-mph sprint in 4.1 seconds and a 183-mph top speed.

Almost as exciting, the interior seems to have been lifted from the One-77 and dropped in place in the Vanquish. The car will be hand-built entirely in England using carbon-fiber body panels designed to give it a superior strength-to-weight ratio and increased rigidity across the body, two crucial parts in the equation of driving fun.Plus, it comes with an optional 2+2 seating arrangement and a trunk that can actually hold luggage, which means plenty of room for you, a friend and an exotic weekend away. That is, unless its $279,995 starting price is an issue.

Car : Alfa Romeo 4C
Author Steve Holloran

When the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione hit the U.S. (in extremely limited numbers), there was hope that the long-lost Italian brand would finally ride valiantly back into the American mainstream with a long list of fun and sporty automobiles.

That hasn’t happened. In fact, the only new Italian we’ve been introduced to lately is the FIAT 500.

Get ready to rejoice, though, because the sumptuous and sexy Alfa Romeo 4C appears ready to drive off the boat about six months of ahead of schedule, probably leading the parade in a line of America-bound Alfas.

The 4C concept debuted at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show with a rear-wheel-drive, midengine layout. Powering the sports car is a 1.7-liter, direct-injected turbo 4-cylinder making as much as 296 hp. In production form, it should be good for a sub-5-second 0-to-60-mph time, thanks to a claimed curb weight of around 1,870 pounds.

The low weight comes courtesy of extensive use of carbon fiber throughout the vehicle. In fact, the entire body is made of the material. Surely that translates to a sky-high price, right? Well, yeah, probably. While there’s no official word, some estimates put the 4C in the Porsche Cayman league, which is between $50K and $60K. Not bad, I suppose, for what many in the U.S. will consider an “exotic.”

BMW's M brand has a special meaning for most automotive enthusiasts; the modified BMW models usually are the pinnacle of handling, power and braking that the automaker has to offer. The new 2012 BMW M6 certainly has the power, but its SUV-like weight makes it feel more like a touring vehicle and less a sports car, according to Cars.com Editor Mike Hanley. (Read More)

Prices for late-model used cars continued their decline in August, dropping nearly $200 on average, or almost 1%, from a month earlier. Used Chevrolet Corvettes saw the biggest declines, dropping on average 6% from July 1 to Aug. 1.

The average asking price for the Corvette was $55,608 on Aug. 1 — about $3,700 less than a month earlier. The Ford E250 van, Pontiac G8 sedan, BMW 335i luxury car, Porsche Cayenne luxury SUV and BMW 128i luxury car also saw 6% price drops, though in pure-dollar terms only the Cayenne's $3,299 decrease was close to the Corvette's. Prices of the 335i continued to decline for a second straight month, shedding $2,232 on average this month after dipping $3,446 the month before.

Used-car prices have fallen the last two months but remain higher than at the beginning of 2012. On Aug. 1, the average price stood at $22,177 for cars from the 2009 to 2011 model years, or $381 more than on Jan. 1.

The chart below details the top 10 used cars from the 2009 to 2011 model years with the biggest price drops, as well as the 10 with the biggest increases. To be eligible for the list, a model must have at least 500 cars in Cars.com's national inventory. (Read More)

Car : 2013 Hyundai Genesis
Author : Colin Bird

For the 2013 model year, the Genesis sedan gets a reconfigured engine lineup, making it harder to obtain a V-8 engine in the premium sports sedan. Another big change is the addition of a more sophisticated multimedia system and Hyundai's Blue Link communication system.

Blue Link is also newly available in the 2013 Genesis Coupe, too. The Genesis changes, particularly the all-new multimedia system, are likely aimed at stemming expected sales losses to its new competitor, the Kia Quoris luxury sedan, which will debut later this year. An all-new Genesis sedan is expected in the next year.

For the 2013 model year, Hyundai has dropped the 385-horsepower, 4.6-liter V-8 as well as the 429-hp, 5.0-liter V-8 from the regular Genesis lineup. The 5.0-liter V-8 is still available, but only on the performance-oriented 5.0 R-Spec, which was new for the 2012 model year. There was only a $1,000 difference between the Genesis 5.0 and the Genesis 5.0 R-Spec and only $2,000 separating the R-Spec from the Genesis 4.6 in the 2012 model year; most shoppers probably opted for the R-Spec version. The 333-hp, 3.8-liter V-6 is available in Premium and Technology Package trims while the R-Spec is available in just one decked-out trim offering.

The new multimedia system features better voice recognition, an improved user interface and functionality, and Hyundai's Blue Link communication system. All systems are available with just an 8-inch display that's controlled via a center-console-mounted knob. The 2012 had a 7-inch touch-screen option. There's now a standard 64-gigabyte drive for music and Bluetooth audio streaming. The new voice-recognition system understands street addresses and cities in just one sequential sentence, making it more natural to dictate directions. Now integrated into the point-of-interest feature is Zagat restaurant ratings, according to Hyundai. The navigation system also can display speed limits, lane guidance and the next three navigation moves, which are new functions. The system is standard on the 5.0 R-Spec and the Genesis 3.8 with Technology Package. Blue Link can only be had with the navigation system and comes with a one-year complimentary trial period.

The 2013 Hyundai Genesis will likely go on sale in the next few months. No pricing details were made available as of publishing. (Read More)

1960 Ford GT40 : Classic Cars
1960 Ford GT40 : Classic Cars

Ford GT40 of the 1960's, which was conceived, designed and built (and rushed through the entire process) for the sole purpose of showing the Europeans, who dominated the biggest races of the day (and especially, the big, "red" Italian stallions) and more specifically to win that endurance race of races . . . the "grueling" 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Henry Ford II, then Chairman and CEO of Ford Motor Company, assembled a team of designers, engineers and builders to produce a world-class, high-performance "GT" (for Grand-Touring or "Tourismo") sports car that would prove that we "Americans" and specifically the Ford Motor Company, could build a race car to compete with the best cars and teams the world had to offer.

The Ford "GT", like its predecessor, is a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive, two door, two-seat, superfast sports car. The Ford "GT" carries a modular 5.4L supercharged V8, which is bolted to a specially-designed, six-speed, manual transmission. It can reach from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds and run through the traps in a quarter-mile jaunt in about 11.2 seconds at around 131.2 mph and its top speed was in the range of 212 mph!

The modern version of the Ford "GT" is an amazing vehicle in its own right and always turns heads and I am sure, changes opinions of any critics who may be so lucky to belt themselves in and take her for a little ride, just as its grandfather did at the 24 Hours of Le Mans some 40+ years ago! Jenson Button, an English Formula One driver currently signed to McLaren. He was the 2009 Formula One World Champion, driving for Brawn GP.

Button began karting at the age of eight and achieved early success, before progressing to car racing in the British Formula Ford Championship and the British Formula Three Championship. He first drove in Formula One with the Williams team for the 2000 season. The following year he switched to Benetton, which in 2002 became Renault, and then for the 2003 season he moved to BAR. They were subsequently renamed Honda for the 2006 season, during which Button won his first Grand Prix in Hungary, after 113 races.

Following the withdrawal of Honda from the sport in December 2008, he was left without a drive for the 2009 season, until Ross Brawn led a management buyout of the team in February 2009, and Button suddenly found himself in a highly competitive, Mercedes-engined car. He went on to win a record-equalling six of the first seven races of the 2009 season, securing the World Drivers' Championship at the Brazilian Grand Prix, having led on points all season; his success also helped Brawn GP to secure the World Constructors' Championship.

For 2010, he moved to McLaren, partnering fellow British racer and former World Champion Lewis Hamilton. After finishing fifth for the team in 2010, Button finished the 2011 season as runner-up. Out of 221 races that Button has started he has won 14 with a total of 47 podium finishes.

Britains Car of the Year for 2012 Award : Skoda Citigo : Award Winners

This revolutionary city car brings brilliant packaging, remarkable refinement and stunning value for money to a sector that is already filled to bursting with talented, low-cost rivals.

Like its VW up! and SEAT Mii siblings, the Citigo delivers the sort of cabin space that you’d normally expect from cars in the class above, while the quality inside is a cut above the competition.

The Skoda also sets the standard from behind the wheel, thanks to its smooth and eager three-cylinder engine, secure handling and composed ride. It’s also very refined, ensuring it’s a relaxing choice for long motorway journeys. And the dinky dimensions, light controls and excellent visibility make it equally at home on crowded city streets. 2014 McLaren MP4-12C Convertible : Con..
2014 McLaren MP4-12C Convertible : Concept Cars

On the road and racetrack, the rivalry between McLaren and Ferrari rages on. In the world of Formula One racing, the British and Italian outfits are already deep into another nail-biting season. The competition is no less intense when it comes to production cars, where McLaren is taking direct aim at the Ferrari 458 Spider with a drop-top variant of its own MP4-12C supercar. These renderings of a MP4-12C convertible provide a glimpse at what’s in store when this finely honed, British-built exotic officially comes to market.

The rigid and extremely lightweight carbon fiber chassis of the MP4-12C coupe, along with the car’s twin-turbocharged V-8 engine, will make their way into the convertible model. With 592 bhp on offer, the 3.8-liter engine – coupled to a 7-speed twin-clutch Seamless Shift Gearbox (SSG) – helps rocket the McLaren coupe to a top speed of 205 mph. Some additional stiffening of the chassis is likely, though our sources confirm that McLaren is eager to keep the MP4-12C convertible’s top speed above the 200-mph mark.

Part of that engineering plan seems to include a folding hardtop, constructed primarily of aluminum and/or carbon fiber. While folding hardtops generally weigh more than their less complicated cousins made out of cloth or vinyl, the use of exotic materials would keep extra pounds gained in the coupe-to-convertible transformation to an absolute minimum. A folding hardtop would also offer aerodynamic benefits, especially if McLaren wants to keep the performance level of the MP4-12C coupe. (Read More)

2015 Volkswagen Phaeton : Concept Cars
2015 Volkswagen Phaeton : Concept Cars

Whatever Volkswagen has done to get to the position of dominance in the European – and indeed the global auto industry, it's clearly been working. But some of its decisions still leave us scratching our heads. The Phaeton is one such four-wheeled decision.

A Volkswagen sedan that shares its platform with the Bentley Continental Flying Spur, the Phaeton offers the space, luxury and meticulous engineering standards you'd expect of a Mercedes-Benz S-Class or BMW 7 Series, in a package decidedly bereft of the badge cachet that goes with it. VW clearly spent big dollars developing the vehicle, so when sales never really materialized, we were hardly surprised that plans were floated to phase it out in favor of something a little more cost-effective for both buyer and manufacturer, closing the enormous canyon between the current Phaeton and the Passat and CC ranges that sit below it.

In fact, we've read reports for years now stating that VW will/will won't follow up the Phaeton with a new model – it's one of the most cyclical future product stories in the entire auto industry. This latest report from Motor Trend suggests that Volkswagen is planning to replace the current Phaeton in 2015 or 2016 with another model in the same mold, downsizing in neither price point nor scale – and bringing the new model back to the North American market in the process. MT suggests the Phaeton will be an technological wonder, going with smaller engines (no W12), forced induction power and available hybrid and plug-in models. Us? we wouldn't be surprised to see the Phaeton adopt the new twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine found in the 2013 Bentley Continental V8.

Apparently VW is keen to retain the buyers who have enjoyed their Phaetons thus far, giving them the conservatively styled, anti-prestige alternative to the luxury sedans built by its sister company Audi and its own retiring executives – including Group CEO Martin Winterkorn and his product chief Ulrich Hackeberg – something of a parting gift.

Jeremy Ganss’s love for music began when he was a small child. He began DJing professionally in 1997 when he started college. While Jeremy spent the beginning of his career working for others to learn the trade, he began noticing the things he thought his employers could have done better to make their events more distinctive, eloquent and tasteful. For instance, former employers would only talk to their Brides on "set office hours", they thought they HAD to play line dances for a Wedding to be fun and most importantly they didn’t seem to go that extra mile for EVERY bride. Thus in 2005, Jeremy began his own company determined to change the industry one Wedding at a time.

Mallory McMorrow : Designers And Engineers

For years I’ve doodled sketches of sports cars, wheels and automaker logos, and I can tell you what kind of car is coming up from behind me just by the headlights. Last fall, like so many times before, I sketched a car, pulled it into Photoshop and added a bit of color. At the urging of Professor Paul Down, my industrial design thesis adviser, I uploaded the sketch and a short essay to an online Mazda design competition held in conjunction with the social-networking site Facebook. I entered about 15 minutes before the midnight deadline.

From more than 4,000 submissions sent in by students, professionals and amateur enthusiasts, the Mazda design team selected 10 finalists. They then let the public choose the winner. Thanks to strong backing from the Notre Dame community, after the votes were tallied there was only one design left on the Mazda Design Challenge website. My name was next to it. (Read More)

So after finally hoping on the Facebook-bandwagon, we decided to check up on how Mallory McMorrow's Mazda3 concept was coming along. After shaping and molding the clay on the LA show floor for over 10 days, the 2018 Mazda3 was finally displayed. Overall, it's cues tie in nicely with the "flow" theme crafted by Franz von Holzhausen and his team who helped McMorrow hone her design. We think it's a step in the right direction, particularly from an undergrad, and we're hopeful that the 21-year old industrial design student hits the ground running once she has her degree in hand.(Read More)

2013 Nissan Altima : Current Models
2013 Nissan Altima : Current Models

When the original Nissan Altima launched 20 years ago, it wore a toddler-sized version of the Infiniti J30’s rhinestone jumpsuit. That first Altima was smaller than its competitors and a bit rough around the edges; it had fake wood the color of Cheetos; and it came bearing a completely unknown name. None of that mattered. It started at $13,349, but the world thought you’d bought a $34,895 J30. Nissan sold 120,000 Altimas that first year, 20 percent more than planned.

Clearly, any resemblance between the 2013 Altima and an Infiniti M37 is purely intentional as Nissan revives the show it staged back in the roaring Nineties. Today, a base Altima costs $22,280, but at a glance it appears that you’ve spent $48,595 on an Infiniti M37. Like the original, the newest Altima’s shape makes a strong first impression. Unlike the original, it holds up to closer scrutiny.

Although slightly longer and wider than before, the new Altima is no fat Elvis: It’s lost weight. Our nearly loaded SL 2.5-liter four-cylinder model weighed 3102 pounds, an impressive 124 pounds less than the last four-cylinder Altima we tested. The trunk, hood, and roof are now aluminum, and the body uses more high-strength steel to cancel out the modest increase in size. The wheelbase is unchanged, but the added width makes for extra shoulder room in the larger cabin. (Read More)

Maruti To Restart Riot-Hit India Plant... : News
Maruti To Restart Riot-Hit India Plant Next Week : News

India's largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India Ltd will restart production at its Manesar factory early next week after a deadly riot shut the plant last month, the Nikkei business daily reported.

The 550,000 vehicles-a-year factory in Haryana, where the unit of Japan's Suzuki Motor Corp makes its best-selling Swift hatchback, has been idle since the July 18 clash between workers and management over pay left one dead, scores injured and parts of the plant burned out.

The shutdown of the factory, which made about 1,700 cars a day before the unrest, is costing the company tens of millions of dollars, and more than 2,500 workers have taken to hiding, fearing punishment from Maruti or police, say residents and unions.

Production at the plant will take one to two months to return to pre-shutdown levels as the Indian carmaker ensures the safety of the facility, the Nikkei reported on Wednesday, citing an unidentified Maruti official.

Maruti plans to enlist about 500 guards to help bolster security at the plant, which will restart in stages beginning with welding and press operations, the Nikkei said.

Two phone calls to the plant's spokesman seeking comment went unanswered.

"This announcement did not come from us, so we are unable to comment on its validity," said Ei Mochizuki, a spokesman for parent Suzuki Motor.

A one-month shutdown would cut parent Suzuki's operating profit by around 6 billion yen, equal to 5 percent of the Japanese car maker's 120 billion yen forecast for the year to end-March 2013, analysts estimate.

"However, if the company can recoup production after reopening the plant, losses could diminish further on a fiscal year basis," Goldman Sachs said in a report.

"Additionally, in light of India inventories of 110,000 vehicles in early August, we would expect sales opportunity losses to be limited."

Suzuki Chairman and CEO Osamu Suzuki is slated to visit India next week, but has no plans to visit the Manesar facility, the Nikkei wrote. A Suzuki spokesman declined to comment on the travel plans of its head.

Shares of Suzuki were unchanged against a 0.7 percent dip in the Nikkei 225 average in afternoon Tokyo trade.

The July 18 clash has rattled corporate India and shone a light on outdated and rigid labour laws in a country where cheap labour drives manufacturing and draws foreign investment.

Chris Piscitelli was born and raised in northern New Jersey. Being the son of a car fanatic and the grandson of a fine artist heavily influenced his decision to pursue a career in design. He attended Rhode Island School of Design (BFA Industrial Design), then moved to Detroit, MI to attend College for Creative Studies (BFA Transportation Design) and currently works as a designer in the automotive industry.

Plainly put, Chris is a car junky through and through. He loves anything that goes fast, or cruises slow. If he had the money, time, or space, he’d have more junk than he already does, and still never be finished with any of it. An artist/designer by trade, and a motor head by nature, he enjoys combining his love of old iron and passion for design to create visions of what could be for himself and for anyone in need.

Whether it’s something as simple as paint color and wheel/tire choice, or a full blown ground up design project, he’s happy to take it on. Experienced in both exterior, and interior design, he has worked with shops and individual builders alike on everything from 4x4’s to wild custom bodied creations, and is strongly dedicated to helping people transform their thoughts and ideas into something they can see, love, and build towards.

Chris Brown : Lamborghini Gallardo Roadster...
Chris Brown : Lamborghini Gallardo Roadster : Stars And Cars

"You got that smile that only heaven could make."

Christopher Maurice Brown was born on May 5, 1989, in the small town of Tappahannock, Virginia, to Joyce Hawkins, a former day care center director, and Clinton Brown, a corrections officer at a local prison. The younger child of the couple, he has an older sister, Lytrell Bundy, who works in a bank. Music was always present in Brown's life beginning in his childhood. He would listen to soul albums that his parents owned, and eventually he began to show interest in the hip-hop scene.

Brown taught himself to sing and dance at a young age and often cites Michael Jackson as his inspiration. He began to perform in his church choir and in several local talent shows. When he mimicked an Usher performance of "My Way", his mother recognized his vocal talent, and they began to look for the opportunity of a record deal. At the same time, Brown was going through personal issues. His parents had divorced, and his mother's boyfriend terrified him by subjecting her to domestic violence.

At the age of 13, Brown was discovered by Hitmission Records, a local production team that visited his father's gas station while searching for new talent. Hitmission's Lamont Fleming provided voice coaching for Brown, and the team helped to arrange a demo package and approached contacts in New York to seek a record deal.Tina Davis, senior A&R executive at Def Jam Recordings, was impressed when Brown auditioned in her New York office, and she immediately took him to meet the former president of the Island Def Jam Music Group, Antonio "L.A." Reid, who offered to sign him that day. "I knew that Chris had real talent," says Davis. "I just knew I wanted to be part of it."

The negotiations with Def Jam continued for two months, and Davis then lost her job due to a corporate merger. Brown asked her to be his manager, and once Davis accepted, she promoted the singer to labels such as Jive Records, J-Records and Warner Bros. Records. According to Mark Pitts in an interview with HitQuarters, Davis presented Brown with a video recording, and Pitts' reaction was: "I saw the potential ... I didn’t love all the records, but I loved his voice. It wasn’t a problem because I knew that he could sing, and I knew how to make records."

Brown ultimately chose Jive due to its successful work with then-young acts such as Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake. Brown claims, "I picked Jive because they had the best success with younger artists in the pop market, I knew I was going to capture my African American audience, but Jive had a lot of strength in the pop area as well as longevity in careers." Brown attended Essex High School in Virginia until early 2005, when he moved to New York to pursue his music career. (Read More)
